Ruth is originally from Massachusetts and has spent the greater part of the last 20 years in New York City. She moved to New York directly after high school to attend The School of Visual Arts. That lasted exactly one year. She kicked around NYC as an art school drop out for a while before becoming interested in acting. Living in Harlem it only made sense to apply to The City College of New York where she earned a BA in Theater. Later she completed a two year Meisner program with Terry Knickerbocker. While studying with Terry she worked with Brett Goldstein Casting which provided her valuable insight into the casting process and also the ins and outs of the business itself. As an actor she has performed at Ars Nova, The Brick Theater and The Access Theater and also college level performances at The New School and Roger Williams University and of course City College. She has also worked in independent films going to various festivals and has appeared on TV in commercials and on Discovery ID. In 2018 she returned to the Boston area with her husband to raise their daughter. These days, she not only acts, but has immersed herself in learning to write for film and TV while also trying her hand at producing.
